Snodgrass-King Dental Associates recently found a new home in Mt. Juliet and they are bringing three talented doctors to the area.Dr. Cara Corning, Pediatric, Dentist, is one of Mt. Juliet’s own. Dr. Corning was raised in Mt. Juliet graduating from Mt. Juliet High School in 2002.
Corning has a long history with Snodgrass-King. They were her pediatric dentist when she was a child, and through observing at the office in high school and college, she decided that would be her profession.
She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Tennessee Tech in 2006; her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Tennessee in 2010, graduating with honors; and her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital Medical Center in 2012. Pediatric Dentistry, one of eight dental specialties, focuses beyond a four year dental degree on meeting the dental needs of all children, including medically compromised children, children with physical and mental handicaps, the growth and development of children, conscious sedation, and dental treatment performed under general anesthesia.
Dr. Corning said she is excited to be working in her hometown, and thinks it will be great for her and her friends and family who will be visiting.
She is in the process of becoming board certified in pediatric dentistry. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She and her dog, Snickers, currently reside in Mt. Juliet.
Dr. Heidi Sottek, Orthodontist, grew up in Michigan, but is now calling Mt. Juliet home.
She attended the University of Michigan obtaining her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2003. After obtaining her D.D.S. she entered the United States Air Force where she obtained the rank of Major and proudly served for nine years.
While in the armed services, she received advanced general dental training and her specialty certificate in orthodontics from the Tri-Servie Orthodontic Residency Program at Wilford Hall, Lackland AFB, Texas.
She comes to Snodgrass-King from Nellis AFB in Las Vegas where she was the lead faculty orthodontic instructor for military personnel. She and her husband Tom have three daughters – Sydney (7), Sophia (5) and Tyler (2). The children will attend Rutland Elementary.
“I love how friendly everyone is,” said Dr. Sottek about Mt. Juliet. She said there is a smallness to the Mt. Juliet community. She sees the same people at the grocery store every week, and local shops know what she wants when she walks in the door.
The Sottek Family enjoys all types of sports, cooking, and party planning. When not at work, Dr. Sottek spends most of her spare time at soccer practices, soccer games and gymnastics sessions.
Dr. Tiffany Hetmanek, General and Cosmetic Dentist, was raised in Southwest Florida. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science from the University of Florida, she obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 2010. While at the University of Florida she was a member of the prestigious Florida Dazzler Dance Team. She also served as the Academic Chairman of her Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She is an active member of the American Association of General Dentists, the American Association of Women Dentists, and the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity.
Before joining the Snodgrass-King family, Dr. Hetmanek worked in private practice in Southwest Florida for a year and half. Her desire to live in a larger, more dynamic city and to follow her family and friends brought her to Nashville. She enjoys dance, all sports, and vigorous physical activities.
“I love Nashville and the surrounding areas,” said Dr. Hetmanek. “The people are really nice.”
Hetmanek said that Mt. Juliet is very diverse with young professionals, families and people retiring. She believes that makes Snodgrass-King perfect for Mt. Juliet since they can cater to everyone.
