From Wilson Post Staff Reports
A Watertown man was arrested Sunday and is charged with Criminal Homicide after he allegedly shot and killed a man outside a Mt. Juliet bar early Saturday.
Samuel Wayne Ramsey, 35, of 420 Armstrong Road in Watertown is currently in custody at the Wilson County Jail on $150,000 bond for allegedly shooting Maurice Dobson at the Fat Friday located just outside the Mt. Juliet city limits on Central Pike. The shooting occurred around 12 a.m., midnight on Saturday.
“Ramsey went to buy narcotics from Dobson,” said Detective Jeff Johnson of the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department. “Apparently the drugs were not up to Ramsey’s standards and he shot (Dobson).”
Johnson said they believe Ramsey was there to purchase cocaine.
Johnson said Dobson was shot in the upper extremeties and was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later passed away. Johnson also mentioned that Ramsey allegedly shot Dobson from a moving vehicle as Dobson was directing traffic in the parking lot.
“He’s been charged on a Criminal Homicide warrant and we’ll present evidence to the grand jury,” Johnson said.
