Salon Professional Academy celebrates 5 years

The Salon Professional Academy in Donelson celebrated its 5th Anniversary on Tuesday with a hair fashion presentation by World Renowned Hair Artist Chris Baran and by recognizing current and former student achievements.  The Salon Professional Academy (Tee-SPA for short) welcomed it’s first class of students on September 18, 2007 and has since graduated over 200 students.

Baran, who is the Global Director of Redken’s Artistic Education and travels the world presenting hair fashion demonstrations, wowed those attending the TSPA celebration with a “how to” clinic on creating 10 different hairstyles.  Many of the styles were so moveable that customers could alter the style themselves to change their look from a casual event to a formal event.  “Everyone wants hair that is moveable so they can have different looks based on the occasion,” Baran told the group.

As TSPA celebrates 5 years in Nashville, the school has just created another milestone by welcoming students from states like Utah, Georgia, North Carolina as well as Middle Tennessee.

Caitlin Dances, originally from Sacramento, moved here from Utah to attend cosmetology school at TSPA Nashville.  She originally found the school through its website and is very pleased with her decision to enroll.  “It’s great how the older students treat the newer students and the atmosphere is very positive,” commented Dances.

Meanwhile Rachel Carney, also starting in class with Dances, is from Clarksville where she attended Austin Peay before deciding she would rather be a cosmetologist.   “I like the hands on education which is provided at TSPA Nashville,” stated Carney.   She hopes to become a Redken Artist which would allow her to travel doing hairstyle presentations for other schools and salons.

TSPA Nashville is now offering financial aid to those who qualify.  This option should allow even more future cosmetologists to realize their dreams at The Salon Professional Academy Nashville.
