The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Beckwith Road Tuesday.
Gretchen L. Crowe, 29, was shot multiple times by Corey Montrell Clemmons, 38, at a residence at 5869 Beckwith Road. They were visiting family.
Crowe walked to a neighbor’s house after being shot to call the police.
Crowe and Clemmons have a residence together at 120 Upton Heights in Lebanon.
While responding to the call, the Sheriff’s Department was alerted that Clemmons was on his way to the Sheriff’s Office to turn himself in. He was taken into custody a short while later by Wilson County Sheriff’s Deputies in the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Department.
Crowe was transported by WEMA and is in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt Hospital Wednesday. Crowe is improving daily, according to her family.
