Silver Springs Baptist Church, Lebanon Road at Benders Ferry, Mt. Juliet welcomes Dr. Randy Davis, Executive Director-Treasurer of the Tennessee Baptist Convention to the church’s pulpit during the 10 a.m. worship service on Oct. 28.Pastoring churches since the age of twenty, Dr. Davis came to Tennessee in 1992 to serve the First Baptist Church, Morristown. In 2001, Davis was called to serve the First Baptist Church, Sevierville. His only other two pastorates have been in Vancleave and Leakesville, Miss. respectively. During his tenures Dr. Davis’ churches experienced growth numerically locally, and at Sevierville especially growth in missions involvement nationally and internationally.
The Mobile, Ala. native attended William Carey College and then the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned both the Master of Divinity. He was the recipient of a Doctor of Christian Ministries degree from the Southern Baptist Center for Biblical Studies in 2000. Professionally, Davis has served in many areas of denomina-tional life.
Dr. Davis and his wife, Jeanne, make their home in Williamson County and are parents to two daughters and grandparents to three.
The worship service Sunday, as always, is open to the general public who wants to worship God and hear from one of today’s shapers of Tennessee Baptist thought and vision.
