The 13th Annual Mt. Juliet Homecoming and Music Fest will be held Oct. 27 at 563 Main St. behind Cloyd’s Presbyterian Church on West Division.
Old Time, Country, Bluegrass and Gospel Music will be featured all day from 9 a.m. til 5 p.m.Admission is $5, ages 10 and under are free.
Mt. Juliet’s own Opry Entertainer Karen Wheeler, along with Lacy J. Slyer, Kendall Parker and Savannah Godwin, Steve Myatt and Straight Arrow Boys, Rob Pearcy and Friends, the Jimalong Josie’s featuring Riley McClain, and the Gallinippers featuring World Champion Banjo Picker Buddy Ingram.
Plaques will be awarded in all contests such as cakes, pies and dessert of any kind and corn bread.
Two and one man crosscut saw and horseshoe pitching competition will also be held.
Plaques will be awarded in three classes in the saw contest and cash prizes and plaques will be awarded in the team horseshoe pitching champion Joan Elmore will be on hand with tips and pointers.
Many artisans of yesteryear, mules and wagons, antique tractors, cars, farm machinery, Civil War encampment and much more will be there.
Food is sold on site. Bring a chair, a toothpick and come out and enjoy a day with old friends and meeting new ones.
