The Mt. Juliet Animal Shelter Volunteer Organization was awarded a $1,000 grant from the Allstate Foundation Monday.
The grant was a part of Allstate’s “Agency Hands in the Community Program.”“Terry Burns of the Burns Insurance Group, an Allstate agency, and his team provide volunteer support to our organization,” said MJASVO Chairman Will Sellers. “We are honored that the Allstate Foundation responded to our request for assistance with this donation from the good hands people.”
Jon Gray, the MJASVO Volunteer Coordinator, stated that this grant will be targeted for programs that help with the medical needs of the animals at the shelter which has a 93 percent adoption rate. It will also help support a new senior citizens program for animal adoption. If a senior citizen does not have the money for an adoption, the grant will help cover the $75 adoption fee.
