Over the past two weeks, students have been bringing in non-perishable goods to the school to benefit the Mt. Juliet Big Brothers Program. The drive is sponsored by the FFA and JROTC.
The Big Brothers program benefits over 200 local families.
The students involved have been making a huge effort, sometimes bringing in 10 to 15 cans at a time.
The teachers have all been supportive as well, sometimes offering extra credit to students who bring in useful items.
As well as food items, the drive is also accepting socks, gloves, and hats.
The school recommends bringing in items such as dry beans, flour, peanut butter, sugar, baby food, and hamburger helper.
The students can bring in items now until Dec. 12, and on the 15, the next Saturday, students may volunteer their time to deliver the food to families that need it.
