Recent MJHS graduate passes away after being struck by car

Former Mt. Juliet resident Timothy Martin, a freshman at MTSU, was killed in Murfreesboro, Tuesday, Feb. 5 while trying to cross the street with his bike. 

According to The Daily News-Journal, he was trying to cross Rutherford Boulevard when he was hit by a car driven by 22-year-old Benjamin Conley. 

Martin was transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. 

The Daily News-Journal also reported that the crash is still under investigation, “however charges against the driver are not anticipated at this point.”

Martin was a 2011 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School, and served in the TN National Guard, 1176th Transportation Company out of Tullahoma that was recently relocated to Smyrna.

Services were held Saturday at Bond Memorial Chapel.
