Wilson Central travelled to District rival Mt. Juliet and suffered a 5-3 defeat Wednesday.
Brittany Wiseman had an RBI single to help the Wildcats take the lead in the fourth inning before Mt. Juliet responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Emily Bombard’s RBI double gave Mt. Juliet the lead, and Lauren Payne iced it later with a RBI base hit.
Central was led by Allie Bennett’s two hits in three at bats. Bennett also scored a run and had an RBI.
Lauren Woodard struck out five in the win.

Mt. Juliet picked up a 10-2 win over White House Saturday, but lost to Riverdale, 17-7, and Siegel, 1-0, Monday. They are 9-6 on the season and 1-0 in district play.
Central came away with a win and a loss Thursday night against a couple teams from northern Illinois. In the 1st game, Central lost to Lake Zurich 9-8.
Kelsey Tomlin continued her hot hitting by going 2-for-3 with two runs and a RBI. Morgan Powell was 2-for-3, scoring a run and driving in four RBIs. Lauren Stavinoga had a RBI triple and scored two runs. Karlie Odum was 1-for-3 with a RBI.

In the nightcap, Central played a scrappy team from the Chicago area, Carl Sandburg, but came away with a 7-4 win.
Rachel Tichenor was 3-for-3 with an RBI. Ashley Eldridge was on base all four times, walking twice and driving in three runs with her double down the line. Stavinoga was 1-for-2 with two runs, a RBI, and two walks. Bennett was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Central received a solid effort Friday on the mound from Hannah Pryer against Geneseo (IL). Pryer gave up six hits in six innings of work, giving up two earned runs while striking out six batters.
Tomlin was 2-for-3 with two runs and a RBI, while also stealing a base. Wiseman was 2-for-4 with two runs a RBI and a stolen base. Stavinoga was 2-for-2 with two doubles, scored two runs, drove in three RBI and had two walks. Katie Eakes was 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs. Keily Preston was 2-for-4 with a RBI and a stolen base.

Wilson Central concluded its play in the Lady Warrior Southern Classic Saturday, playing two of the three scheduled games.
Central began its day with a 4-0 shutout win over Giles County. Sophomore Morgan Powell pitched one of her best games as a Lady Wildcat, striking out 13 while only allowing three hits over seven innings. Powell also got it done at the plate going 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Senior Allie Bennett was 2-for-2 and reached base safely in all three at bats. She also scored a run and had an RBI. Eldridge was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

In the second game, Central was matched up against Alabama powerhouse, Hueytown. It was a great pitcher’s duel as the two teams combined for only four hits. Unfortunately for the Lady Wildcats, the defense once again did them in, committing five errors in the rain-shortened game. The rain ended the game with Central down 2-0.
