On Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, Mt. Juliet will host its 4th annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life.
This event honors and remembers those touched by cancer.
It will be held at the walking track of Charlie Daniels Park.
Opening Ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m.
This is a free event and the public is welcomed to attend.
There will be plenty of food, live music, games and fun.
Family, friends, co-workers and loved ones are invited to participate in this heartwarming event.
Everyone has an opportunity to pay tribute to loved ones and friends that have been affected by cancer.
You can take part in the fight against this disease that claims so many lives.
At 9 p.m. on May 17, there will be a special Luminaria Ceremony to honor cancer survivors and remember those we have lost.
Hundreds of candles will be lit around the track.
It is one of the most special and moving moments of Relay For Life.
Everyone gathers around to pay tribute and remember those lost to cancer, support those still fighting cancer and rejoice with those who have fought the disease and won.
This ceremony symbolizes the hope and perseverance with which we all continue to fight.
For a minimum donation of $10, you may purchase a white bag with a candle in the bottom “In Honor” or “In Memory” of your loved one touched by cancer.
Each of these bags will be placed around the track.
For a minimum donation of $100, a special “Torch of Hope” may be purchased “In Honor” or “In Memory” of your loved one.
Each torch is adorned with a beautiful keepsake plaque engraved with the Relay For Life logo, the name of the person being honored and the name of the person the torch was given by.
The torches will be placed near the stage for all to see.
For a $250 donation, you may sponsor a letter in the word HOPE, which will be spelled out with the luminaria bags and placed in the bleachers.
