Vol State Art Exhibit

The Vol State Student Art Exhibit will be on display in the Great Hall Gallery, Ramer Administration Building, April 22 – May 4, 2013. This is a juried competition sponsored by Arts Alive! and the Vol State Art Department.

Out of more than 350 works submitted to this year’s competition, 122 were juried into the show. Yvonne Petkus, Professor of Art, Western Kentucky State University, juried the show.

A Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held Wednesday, May 1, 12:30 – 1:30pm, in the Great Hall, Ramer Building. In addition to the Art Awards, awards for excellence in Squatters’ Rites, the student literary magazine, Number One, Vol State’s professional literary magazine, the Hal. R. Ramer Oratorical Contest and the Elkin Brown Memorial award will be presented. The Reception is free and open to the public.

This event presents a great opportunity to recognize and cultivate the creative talents of students in our area.

Scholarship Awards

Alyssa Fullerton, who was awarded the one-semester tuition scholarship based on her portfolio.

Jessica Shaw, who was awarded a $300 materials scholarship.
