A 5-year-old was killed when he fell into the path of a truck Friday morning.
Ethan Page was running down the driveway of the Page property near Division Street and Main Street along side the truck of Jimmy Allmon, 73. Allmon was visiting the Page property to prepare for a cancer benefit that was supposed to be Sunday for Paige Nash Morris. Page tripped and fell in the path of the truck.
“Our community is grieving with the Page family,” said Mt. Juliet Police Chief James Hambrick in a statement late Friday evening. “This is such a terrible, terrible incident. Any tragic death of a child is very sad and difficult to deal with. Our department’s thoughts and prayers are with the family, community, and our emergency responders.”
Witnesses called for an ambulance immediately, and Page was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was pronounced dead upon arrival to the hospital.
No criminal charges were placed on Allmon. Mt. Juliet Sergeant Hamblen, along with the assistance of Lebanon Police Department’s crime scene investigation, determined it was an “extremely tragic, sad event” according to the Mt. Juliet Police Department press release.
Page was laid to rest Tuesday at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. See his full obituary on Page 4.
