The north side of town can now get their sushi fix thanks to Roll Wrap & Stix on Lebanon Road.
Owner Hla Tun, has been a sushi chef for years, and he has catered the entire campus of Vanderbilt University for the last several years.
Since summer break has now come for the majority of the Vanderbilt students, Tun thought it was a great time to bring his cuisine to the Mt. Juliet area.
“We have the freshest fish,” said Tun. He said he only orders tuna and salmon which has never been frozen, ensuring that you get the most flavor out of it. He also puts a lot of care into his rice, which will take over an hour to prepare.
“A lot of places can’t beat it,” said Tun.
Roll Wrap & Stix has several different types of sushi rolls like California Roll, Dragon Roll, Tempura roll and several different types of seafood to go in them, like tuna, shrimp, salmon, scallop and eel. On the mix and match sushi menu, there are selections like yellow tail, mackerel, red snapper, squid, sea urchin, clam and octopus.
There are also vegetable rolls like avocado, cucumber, carrot and vegetable combo.
If you don’t want sushi, there are rice bowls, noodle bowls and salads.
Tun said he will also be adding Thai food to the menu as well in the coming weeks.
