Mt. Juliet and Lebanon get the gridiron action started Thursday in a televised game.
WUXP-30’s Thursday Night Lights game pits the two rivals against each other with kickoff at 7 p.m.
Mt. Juliet is coming off their second straight trip to the State Semifinals, and a 12-2 season. Their season was ended by eventual state champion Whitehaven, 41-35.
Trey Perry will take over as Head Coach this season, as father Roger Perry stepped down from the position over the summer.

Central is coming off an 8-3 season, and a playoff appearance, while Hendersonville finished last year 4-6.
Mt. Juliet Christian Academy will open the year on the road as well, as they travel to Whitwell, which is near Chattanooga. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
The Saints finished last year 2-8. Whitwell was 1-9.
