For the 11th consecutive fall, GladeFest will offer fun for the entire family in the Gladeville community. This year’s event takes place Saturday, Sept. 21, with most activities taking place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Early birds can start the day with breakfast at Gladeville Elementary School between from 7:30 and 10 a.m., sponsored by the Mt. Juliet Chick-Fil-A. The GladeFest 5K Run, hosted by and benefiting the Wilson Central Navy JROTC, starts at 8 a.m., with registration beginning at 7 a.m.
Most GladeFest events will kick off at 9 a.m. Among the attractions this year are a farmers’ market; variety of craft vendors; carnival games at Gladeville Elementary’s fall festival; pony rides; a live entertainment stage sponsored by Sonic; antique car, tractor and engine contests; and free children’s inflatables at Wilson Bank & Trust. Baseball games will also take place throughout the day at the Gladeville ball field.
From 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., registration will be open for the GladeFest Antique/Classic Car & Truck show, with awards to be presented at 2:30 p.m. Sponsored by Manheim Nashville and Cumberland Auto Body Repair, the auto show offers an opportunity to see a variety of antique and classic vehicles from across Tennessee and surrounding states.
There’s no need to worry about going hungry at GladeFest. A wide variety of food vendors will be on hand offering concessions ranging from hamburgers and barbecue to homemade pies.
As part of a showcase of Gladeville community history, entries from quilt and photography contests will be held inside Wilson Bank & Trust’s Gladeville office. Entries for both contests will be accepted on Sept. 13 and 14 at the bank, located at 8875 Stewarts Ferry Pike.
