A group of serial shoplifters were caught in the act Monday, Sept. 2 by Mt. Juliet Police Department.
Target’s loss prevention team recognized three individuals as suspects from previous thefts and alerted the Mt. Juliet Police Department.
Three people were apprehended in the incident. Terry Dunn, 25, Baxter, was apprehended outside of the store in the parking lot. Two other were apprehended as they were leaving the store. They were Dustin Burgess, 26, Cookeville and Karla Montgomery, 24, Cookeville.
In the car, there was merchandise valued at over $600 that had been taken from the Wal-Mart in Hermitage earlier in the day. Marijuana roaches were also found on Dunn.
All of the merchandise was returned to the stores. The three are believed to be a part of previous thefts. The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
The three were arrested, booked into the Wilson County Jail, and charged with the following: Dunn, Theft of Property (TCA 39-14-103), Simple Possession Sch. VI (TCA 39-17-418); Burgess, Theft of Property (TCA 39-14-103); Montgomery, Theft of Property (TCA 39-14-103.)
