Mt. Juliet soccer came up with a 5-2 win over Wilson Central, Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Nataya Wade scored in the 12th minute to give Mt. Juliet the early lead. It was assisted by Marileigh Mabry.
That 1-0 lead held at the half, and Julia Duggan took control in the second, scoring four goals. She scored in the third minute, fifth minute, 35th minute and 38th minute.
She was assisted by Chandler Scott on the first three goals, and Nikki Blais on the last.
“We played really well tonight,” said Mt. Juliet Head Coach Ryan Hill. “For most of the game we did a good job controlling the pace and tempo. Wilson Central went on a run in the second half when they scored their two goals but we came back to take the momentum away from them in the last 10 minutes. I was proud of the way our girls battled. It’s always special to get a win against Wilson Central.”
Thursday, Station Camp beat Mt. Juliet, 2-0.
Station Camp had that lead by the half. Mt. Juliet outshot the Lady Bison 19-10 in the game.
“We had a couple of defensive lapses that allowed Station Camp to score,” said Hill. “We had three shots that went off the post or crossbar. In the second half we played better but we just couldn’t break through and score. The effort in the second half was much better than the first half.”
Mt. Juliet is now 3-4 (2-3 in 9-AAA). They played Lebanon Tuesday night after press time.
