The fifth annual Wilson County Cross Country Invitational was held at the Wilson County Fairgrounds with several high school and middle schools in the county competing.
Mt. Juliet High School won both the boys and girls team competition with 27 points for the boys and 29 points for the girls. Wilson Central was second for the boys, followed by Friendship Christian. Those two were in the same spots on the girls side as well.
Mt. Juliet’s Colbe Earles won the individual title for the boys with a time of 18:28.2. He was followed by Wilson Central’s John Elrod at 18:44.5 and Mt. Juliet’s Mickey Fils at 18:59.3.
On the girls side, two Wilson Central runners crossed the finish line first. Taylor Blankenship was first at 21:57.0 and Kamryn Burgess was 21:59.5. Mt. Juliet’s Hannah Burnette was third at 23:29.0.
Mt. Juliet Middle School won the boys team competition with 36 points. Friendship Christian Middle School won the girls competition with 46 points. West Wilson Middle School was second in the boys run, followed by Winfree-Bryant. Winfree-Bryant was second for the girls, followed by West Wilson Middle.
Ethan Njezic of Tuckers Crossroads won the boys run with a time of 9:34.2. Mt. Juliet Middle’s Harrison Noffsinger was second with a time of 9:35.4. Chase Danko of Winfree Bryant was third with a time of 9:41.4.
On the girls side, Hope Ilias of Friendship Christian Middle School won with a time of 9:59.3. Allie Dozier and Emily Jones of Winfree-Bryant came in second and third with times of 10:31.6 and 11:08.2.
