Mt. Juliet girls soccer lost to Lipscomb Thursday, 2-1, in the first game of the Ladies Championship Tournament.
Lipscomb was up 1-0 at halftime. They scored on a penalty kick with seven seconds left in the first half. Nataya Wade scored unassisted for Mt. Juliet in the 10th minute of the second half. Lipscomb scored the winning goal in the 34th minute of the second half. Sarah Carter had 12 saves for Mt. Juliet.
“This was a really evenly played game,” said Head Coach Ryan Hill. “Lipscomb got a penalty kick on a questionable call right before halftime to put them up going into the half. We had some great scoring chances in the second half but couldn’t finish around the goal. The effort was there all night we just couldn’t finish.”
Mt. Juliet is now 5-5 (3-3 in 9-AAA).
