Claude Allen Partlow, Sr.

Funeral services and a celebration of the life of Mr. Claude Allen Partlow, Sr., was Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel in Lebanon, with Rev. Ray Clubb and Rev. David Fallin officiating. A graveside service followed at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Friday, Nov. 15 and preceding the service on Saturday. 

Partlow, 80, passed away Nov. 13 in Lebanon. He was an active member of the Mt. Juliet First Baptist Church. He was a 1950 graduate of Lebanon High School. He graduated college from Tennessee Technological University in 1955 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering.

Partlow served our nation as a Second Lieutenant in the Army National Guard. Through out his years in the engineering field, he worked for both the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Tennessee Valley Authority as an electrical and nuclear engineer. He was active in his church as the Church Training/Education Director, choir member, Church Treasurer, and Deacon for many years. He was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Madison, Alabama, where he served as the Church Treasurer until moving to Tennessee to be closer to his family. 

Partlow was always an active member of his community as well, as a member of The Gideons International and The Lion’s Club. He also loved playing his baritone in the church orchestra and community band. His other favorite pastimes were fishing, golfing, photography, and telling jokes.

Partlow is the son of the late Bluford and Edna Partlow,  and is also preceded in death by his brother, James. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Myra Rose (Stonecipher) Partlow;  three children, Lynn (Garry) Williams, Gail (Lewis) Moore, and Allen (Jackie) Partlow; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Luke) Brewington, Andrew (Heather) Stephens, Rachel Stephens, Shaun Williams, and Cody Partlow; six  great-grandchildren; four step great- grandchildren. He also leaves behind two brothers, Howard (Nancy) Partlow and Jerry (Judy) Partlow; sister-in-law, Annette (Joe) Stewart; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Active pallbearers were family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, Mount Juliet, his breakfast buddies, and his friends from Rutland Place.
