Mt. Juliet will get a little slice of Mayberry this Christmas when a music and humor show will be at the Mt. Juliet Middle School.

Presented by Abundant Life Church, “Mayberry Christmas” is a show that has played in many cities in the southeast, bringing Christmas music, humor, audience interaction and holiday inspiration.

The show will star Rodney Dillard & The Dillard Band, who appeared on The Andy Griffith Show as The Darlings and Maggie Peterson, who played Charlene Darling, the object of Ernest T. Bass’ affections. Also, David Browning will star as the Mayberry Deputy, a tribute to Barney Fife. Don Knotts sanctioned Browning after seeing his performance.

“It’s definitely Mayberry,” said Peterson.

Peterson said that a certain type of down to Earth people are attracted to the show, which has been on the air for over 50 years now. She said it has been a blast traveling around meeting all the people that love the show, and couldn’t wait to come to Mt. Juliet.

Dillard said the show takes place in a typical Mayberry living room. The audience will interact with the show, stories will be told, songs will be sung, and he believes a good time will be had by everyone in attendance.

“Hopefully people can walk away feeling better about things,” said Dillard about the upcoming performance.

The show will take place at Mt. Juliet Middle School, Sunday, Dec, 15, 6:30 p.m. Premium admission is $20 and general admission will be $!5. For more information, go to or call (615)754-7035.
