A Lebanon man was captured by Mt. Juliet Police after burglarizing the Ace Hardware on North Mt. Juliet Road.
According to Mt. Juliet Police Department, Edward Holliday, II, was caught leaving the scene around 3:15 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 6. A burglar alarm had alerted the police to the location. Holliday smashed through the front glass door to gain entry, and wore a brown paper sack to conceal his face.
“Mt. Juliet’s police officers work so hard to ensure that our community remains safe, and I am thankful that we have such hard-working employees,” stated Police Chief James Hambrick. “Their vigilance and quick response led to the offender’s capture.”
Holliday is a former employee of the City of Mt. Juliet, but was no longer working there. He was arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail, charged with Burglary and Vandalism. He was released on $4,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 24. In addition, the investigation is ongoing, and more charges could be forthcoming.
