The Mt. Juliet soccer team bounced back from a 3-1 loss to White House Wednesday, with a 7-1 win over Portland Thursday.
Cameron Woodfin had a hat trick, and Justin Dubay added two goals. Tanner Dabell and Joseph Stevens also added goals. Austin Coleman had two assists, while David Siever and Eddie Mahoney each picked up an assist apiece. Brothers Colby and Chase Earles also had assists.
MJCA beats Hendersonville Christian, 12-2
MJCA Lady Saints defeated Hendersonville Christian Monday, 12-2.
Winning pitcher Eighth grader Caitlyn Smith pitched a complete game allowing three hits.
Freshman Abi Hildabrand hit a triple in the first inning driving in one run. Smith followed it up with a hit to bring in Hildabrand. Smith hit a double in the third inning driving in a run and was brought home on a hit by Freshman Skylar Bowles. The Lady Saints added seven more runs in the fourth inning with Sophomore Kendra Robertson driving in two runs with a single and sophomore Liz Russ hitting a home run and driving in three runs. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Junior Ashley Walling reached base on a walk and stole home on a wild pitch to end the game in the fifth on the run rule.
MJCA moves to 8-3 on the season.
