The search for the new Wilson County Director of Schools is down to two candidates.
After interviews Saturday, Donna L. Wright and Clint A. Satterfield were selected to come back for the final interviews.
Wright was in the final two when Timothy Setterlund was hired. She had the highest score of all those interviewed Saturday. Wright is currently the Assistant Superintendent at Williamson County School, and held that position previously from 2004-2012 in Knox County Schools. She started as a teacher in 1982 in Knox County Schools, before taking over as Assistant Principal and Principal at West High School from 1990-1998. She was Director of High Schools from 1998-2004.
Satterfield has been the Director of Schools for Trousdale County Schools since 2008.
Before that, he served as a middle and high school teacher from 1983-2005 and Supervisor of Federal Programs from 2005-2008. He was Athletic Director and Head Coach for the football, baseball, and junior high football teams. He won five state championships as a Head Football Coach.
The pair will be interviewed once again on May 3. The School Board will select one of them, and move forward with salary negotations with a hope to have the new director announced by the May 7 meeting. If the board can’t come to an agreement with the first choice, they will move into negotiations with the second choice.
