The Mt. Juliet Bear soccer team picked up three wins in eight days recently.
In the first game, the Bears beat the Gallatin Green Wave 3-2 in overtime. Colbe Earles saved the day with a back heel goal off a Landon Bauder corner just two minutes into overtime.
Cameron Woodfin had the other two goals and Chase Earles added an assist. Dylan Cole got the win in goal.
In the second game, the Golden Bears won the rivalry game against Wilson Central. Both The Bears struck first in the early minutes when David Siever split the defense with a precision through ball and Cameron Woodfin was taken down in the box for a penalty kick. Woodfin converted the Pk for a 1-0 lead.
The Bears scored again in the second half as Landon Bauder threaded a ball through the defense and again Cameron Woodfin was on the scene to slice a shot by the diving Central keeper.
The Wildcats were not about to give up and roared back with a penalty kick of their own after Isaac King was fouled in the box and Houston Comber calmly drilled the PK passed the Mt. Juliet keeper, to run the score to 2-1 with three minutes left.
The last three minutes were wild as Central tried to even the score but the Bears held on for a 2-1 victory.
Cameron Woodfin scored the lone goal on a long David Siever throw in to beat cross county rival Lebanon 1-0. Both defensive units played tough all evening, with Dylan Cole recording the shutout in goal for the Bears.
Both squads move into District Tournament play next week. Mt Juliet finished the season with a 5–2 record while the Blue Devils finished regular season district play 3-4.
