Wilson Central softball punched their ticket to the Spring Fling last week after shutouts of Clarksville and Franklin.
Wilson Central softball hosted Clarksville Thursday night for the Region 5-AAA Championship, winning 3-0. Claire Smith walked to lead off the second inning. Karlie Odum bunted Smith to second before Kelsey Tomlin singled to right, scoring Smith.
In the fourth inning, Karlie Odum singled to right center. Kendal Tomlin came in to pinch run for Odum. Kelsey Tomlin then had a bunt single, followed by another single by Kayla Varner, which scored Kendal Tomlin. Brittany Wiseman then scored Kelsey Tomlin with a deep fly ball to center to push the lead to 3-0.
Hannah Bodenhorn pitched for Wilson Central, limiting Clarksville to two hits, both by Peyton Wilson. Bodenhorn struck out six batters.

Wilson Central hosted Franklin High School Friday night with a chance to go to Murfreesboro on the line. Central wasted no time getting on the board as Brittany Wiseman singled up the middle before Morgan Powell hit a 2-run homerun in the first inning. That proved to be more than enough for Hannah Bodenhorn. Central added three more runs in the third inning before scoring five in the fourth to win 10-0 in five innings. Powell finished 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBIs while Brooke Pfefferle was also 2-for-2 and scored twice while driving in a run as well. Also getting hits for Wilson Central were Kendall Eden, Claire Smith, Karlie Odum, and Kelsey Tomlin.

Central will start the Spring Fling Wednesday at 10 a.m. when they take on Maryville at the Starplex fields in Murfreesboro. Win or lose, they would play again later in the day. If they lose, they would play at 4 p.m. on the Starplex field, and if they win they would play right after that game at 5:30 p.m.
