Debbie Moss excitedly announces her campaign and candidacy for Wilson County Circuit Court Clerk in the August 7th County Election.
Moss is a life long resident of Wilson County and a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. Her career spans seventeen years of government experience and a financial background in local banking. Debbie was instrumental in the development and growth of West Wilson County as Zoning Administrator for the City of Mt. Juliet, where she sat on the Board of Regional Planning and The Board of Zoning Appeals. Her current position as Employee Benefits Manager in the Finance Department for Wilson County allows her to meet all the benefit needs of over 600 employees and 130 retirees as well as their spouses and dependents. Debbie goes above and beyond her job to help the employees with any benefit. Her job as Manager puts her in situations where employees need her advice, help and a shoulder to lean on. She is very well known to be an advocate for the employee and to get their problems or questions answered promptly.
Debbie is the wife of Wilson County native Charlie Moss. Charlie works as a Lead Construction Manager for Pyramid Network Services where he supervises the engineering and constructing of cell phone towers around the State of Tennessee. The couple will celebrate 38 years of marriage this summer. Debbie and Charlie and her sister-in-law Linda Moss, a client of Prospect Incorporated of Lebanon and whom Debbie is the primary caregiver, currently reside in Mt. Juliet. They have two daughters. The eldest is Samantha Smith, a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and Cumberland University. Samantha will be graduating in the fall as a Nurse Practitioner and currently works at University Medical Center in Lebanon. Samantha’s family, including her husband Jason Smith and daughters Karaline and Lila Kate, currently live in Mt. Juliet. Debbie and Charlie’s youngest daughter, Sydney Seat is a graduate of Wilson Central High School and a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. Sydney has worked for Wilson County Emergency Management as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher and currently teaches English at Wilson Central High School in Lebanon. Sydney and her husband Jim Seat currently live in Mt. Juliet.
Debbie’s late father was Sam Crowder Brewington who served as Constable for Wilson County for decades, and her late mother Ruby (Dedman) Brewington was a homemaker. Her family has a history of being active within the community. Her older sister Sherry Bilbrey is President of Big Brothers, and her sister Judy Hughes is currently a Realtor in Wilson County and is the President Elect of EMTAR Realtors Association. Her sister Patricia (Trish) Petruzzi is retired from Community Health Systems where she served as the Director of Medical Records. Debbie also had a brother now deceased, Sam Brewington Jr. Debbie is a member of Mt. Juliet First Church of God where she served as the church treasurer for 10 years. She and her husband served as the churches youth leader for several years.
Debbie is confident in her capability to serve Wilson County as Circuit Court Clerk. Her experience in government service and ability to communicate with and serve the people of Wilson County are characteristics that she plans to use as Circuit Court Clerk. Her organizational skills will play a key role in overseeing the clerks’ offices and keeping records of the Circuit Court, the Civil Division of the General Sessions Court and the Criminal Court. She promises to give an unyielding work ethic to these duties. She humbly asks for your vote at the County Election on August 7 or early voting July 18-Aug 2 as the new Wilson County Circuit Court Clerk.
