Storms take down trees, power lines throughout city

Storms wreaked havoc on portions of Mt. Juliet Wednesday afternoon.

Mt. Juliet Police Department and the Fire Department of Mt. Juliet were kept busy all afternoon as the strong winds brought down large trees, power lines, and actually caused transformers to catch fire.

A few roads were closed due to the issues including Chandler Radford and Central Pike.

Lightning was also a problem as two homes were struck, but neither caught fire.

The FDMJ did support WEMA on a house fire at the 100 block of Clark Drive.

No serious injuries or structure damage was reported during the event.
