One person was killed and four others were transported to a hospital after a wreck on I-40 Friday. 

The wreck happened a little after 8 p.m. near the Beckwith Road exit at mile marker 228. 

The eastbound lanes were closed for a time while crews worked the wreck. 

The names and ages of those involved in the wreck have not been released.
