From Wilson Post Staff Reports A fire at Rutland Elementary School Thursday morning did not damage the school and was quickly extinguished according to Wilson County Director of Schools Mike Davis. “It was a fire in the tool box of the contractor on the roof,” Davis said. The fire was reported around 6:30 a.m. and Wilson County Emergency Management Agency firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. Davis said for the past few weeks, the system has had a contractor repairing a section of the roof that was damaged by hail. Davis said that repair is almost finished.
