Pilates has been growing in popularity the last several years, and now it’s about to get more followers in Mt. Juliet. Core Pilates Studio, owned by Amee Marks, is ready to get Mt. Juliet into shape. Marks will offer tower mat classes, as well as many others.
“You get a little more out of the class,” said Marks of tower mat.
Marks, who is classically trained out of New York City, will also teach a ballet barre class, a difficult class that sculpts muscles.
“You are really going to see the results out of that class,” said Marks.
There will also be a yoga teacher at the studio, and Lauren LeFevers will be teaching Zoomba.
The classes will be a mixture of group, private and semi-private classes. The schedule was still under construction at the time of this story, but will be up on the studio’s Facebook fan page soon.
Pilates is great for building long, lean muscles. There are a lot of core exercises.
“The core is the fundamental of everything,” said Marks.
It is great for people with back or neck issues, or even women who have had babies recently. Marks has even done pilates for golfers, musicians and women who are pregnant.
Having the studio means it will be much cheaper to stay in Mt. Juliet instead of driving to a studio in Nashville. Marks has priced her classes so that you are going to save money by staying close to home. There will also be grand opening specials.
“I’m excited about opening a place in Mt. Juliet,” said Marks. Core Pilates Studio is located at 151 Adams Lane, Suite 8. They can be reached at (615)983-0770.
