Children’s Clinic East has been growing in Wilson County for years, and it will continue to with the 20,000 square foot facility on the site of the old elementary school.

Children’s Clinic East will be moving to the entire top floor of the new TownCenter Medical Plaza building.

“It’s awesome,” said Dr. Kimbel Shepherd of the new office.

The office will have six providers, and some improvements over previous offices. Dr. Deepak Mehrotra, Dr. Shepherd, Dr. Donna Lett, Dr. Karie Wells, Dr. Neil Kirschner and Dr. Wendy Hitch will be coming to the new building. There will be six waiting rooms, two for sick, two for well children and two for well babies. The separation helps parents feel more secure if they are bringing in their child for a checkup, they will not be catching something that a sick child might have. The amount of well waiting rooms is because Children’s Clinic East focuses their attention on wellness and keeping your child healthy, so illness will hopefully not happen quite as often.

“We are just so proud to be here,” said Dr. James Anderson.

Children’s Clinic East has had an office in Mt. Juliet for 10 years, and in Hermitage for 15 years. The clinic was founded 60 years ago by the late Dr. Luther A. Beazley in Donelson. Dr. Anderson said he hopes the new facility will help the clinic to grow into other areas of Wilson County besides just Mt. Juliet.

Dr. Anderson said that with the new office, they are occasionally going to be able to have after hours and weekend care. They also would like to hold some community education and outreach classes as well in the future.

The Children’s Clinic East office, located at 2025 N. Mt. Juliet Rd. will be open June 25. They can be reached (615)773-7277.
