Short Cakes Cakery, recently named Best of the Best of Wilson County, continues to expand all their treats, goodies and delicious food for you to enjoy.

What started as a terrific cupcake place with over 60 varities to choose from, has become a great place for lunch, coffee or other sweets.

You are now able to dine in at Short Cakes Cakery.

You can enjoy one of their great lunch sandwiches, like deep fried turkey, roast beef, corned beef and ham.

If you get a catered boxed lunch for $8.99, you get a sandwich, chips, beverage and a cupcake as well.

There is also chili, gumbo, garden salads and pasta salads.

You can also dine in and enjoy one of Short Cakes 60 flavors of cupcakes and six different flavors of fruit tea to choose from. Three flavors of cupcakes - short cake, chocolate peanut butter and banana pudding - are there every day. The several other flavors will be there based on what Donelson decides to make that day.

All cupcakes range from $1.60 to $2 based on what ingredients go into the cupcake.

“We wanted it to be affordable,” said co-owner Nycole Donelson.

They also do wedding tastings, and Donelson’s past a wedding planner makes it a special experience.

Donelson says they bring out the linens and wine glasses so the couple can get a real feel for what their special day will be like. Short Cakes offers terrific tiered cakes.

With the holidays coming up, Short Cakes is putting together a menu for your big family meals.

The menu has not been finalized yet, but items like deep fried turkeys, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes and greens should be on there.

The catering menu has also been loaded up with plenty of options.

There are breakfast options, including: assorted pastries and yogurt parfaits; meat entrees like italian beef and jambalaya; the boxed lunches; fruit and veggie trays; and several beverage options like their Deep South Fruit Tea or one of their European Gourmet Coffees. You can even add on items like bakes beans, deviled eggs, pasta salad, as well as many others.

Short Cakes Cakery is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. They are closed on Sunday.

Customers can start calling in orders as early as 9 a.m., or order online at www.shortcakescakery.com.

Their menu for the day will be posted on Facebook in the morning.

Short Cakes Cakery is located at 4037 N. Mt. Juliet Rd. across from Courtney’s. They can be reached at (615)257-0016.
