|Foster Dental makes move to new office|
|Tuesday, January 22, 2013|
After 26 years in a small, 900-square foot office on Lebanon Road, Foster Dental Care has gone big with a 4800-square office across from Lowe’s on Mt. Juliet Road.“We’ve been dreaming of this office for so many years” said Kathy Foster.
The beautiful office is filled with furniture and artwork to make your dental going experience a peaceful one. Kathy and Dentist Stephen Foster love going to the mountains, so they made the office seem like a mountain retreat, complete with a lot of gorgeous wood furniture, and pieces to create the serene feel.
The Foster dental profession started with Kathleen Foster, who was one of eight women in a class of 130 students in the dentistry program at University of Chicago in 1977. She was the only one to open up her own practice after graduation when she did in Evansville, Ind. She eventually moved to Morristown where her little brother, Stephen, started working in her office.
He eventually went on to school at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and met Kathy. They were friends for two years, and Stephen asked her to marry him at the Wilson County Fair on The Scrambler.
In the early 1980s, an aunt tipped them off that Mt. Juliet was about to boom. They moved here, and Bill Staggs told them he would let them have some office space for a year. That was in 1986, and they stayed in that location until recently.
Foster Dental Care is a family operation. In addition to Stephen, his and Kathy’s son David is a dentist at the location. Their other son, Zach, is a little over a year away from graduating dental school, and will join the practice as well. In addition to the Foster family, many of the staff have been there for many years.
Foster Dental Care is located at 545 N. Mt. Juliet Rd., Suite 300 on the third floor. You can reach them at 754-2295 or www.fosteringsmiles.com.
