WB&T unveils Kasasa checking and savings accounts PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, November 5, 2013

They may not be bounding tall buildings, but bankers at Wilson Bank & Trust have been bestowed with a super-sized set of products that are fueling some out-of-the-ordinary enthusiasm at local branches this week.

With the arrival of the WB&T’s new suite of Kasasa checking and savings accounts, bank representatives are offering consumers big-time products complete with special rewards, to go along the outstanding service that’s always been the cornerstone of community banking.  To help spread the word about these ‘empowering’ new accounts, employees have been seen donning Kasasa capes and even soaring the skies, both figuratively and literally.

Celebrations for the Kasasa kickoff have featured branch managers and other bank employees waving signs to passing cars, grilling free hot dogs and striking poses atop various structures.  A $1,000 cash giveaway drawing has also been part of the special product promotion, as have a series of hot air balloon advertisement flights.

Kasasa is a new brand of free checking and savings accounts that rewards consumers for using their account with what interests them most—high interest, cash back, automatic savings and digital downloads from iTunes® or®.  These accounts, combined with the personal service that only community financial institutions can deliver, are offering residents a better banking option than the megabank experience.

Wilson Bank & Trust is offering four Kasasa financial products, including Kasasa Cash®, Kasasa Cash Back™, Kasasa Saver® and Kasasa Tunes®. All Kasasa products are free, reward-based accounts, with no minimum balance to earn the rewards or maintain the account, no monthly service fee, free online banking and free ATMs nationwide.

Kasasa Cash - A free checking account that rewards consumers with high interest for every month they qualify.

Kasasa Cash Back - A free checking account that rewards account holders with major cash back on everyday debit card purchases, without points or category restrictions like the big guys. The cash back amount is based on how much a consumer spends on his or her debit card.

Kasasa Saver - A free, high interest saver account linked to a Kasasa Cash or Kasasa Cash Back checking account. The interest and ATM fee refunds earned in the Kasasa Cash account or the cash back and ATM fee refunds earned in the Kasasa Cash Back account are automatically deposited into the Kasasa Saver account when the account holders qualify. The balance in the Kasasa Saver account also earns a high rate of interest.

Kasasa Tunes - A checking account that rewards consumers with digital downloads from iTunes® or® when they qualify.

To receive the Kasasa account benefits, each monthly qualification cycle consumers are asked to do a few simple things like receive an eStatement, access online banking, use a debit card a minimum number of times and have an automatic payment (ACH) post and settle. If an account holder does not meet the qualifications in a given month, Wilson Bank & Trust will alert the individual, who will be eligible the following month for the benefits.

Wilson Bank & Trust (, member FDIC and an Equal Housing Lender, is a locally owned bank established in 1987 to provide personal and professional service in a hometown setting. One of the top banks in the South in stability, products, technology, growth and earnings, WB&T currently operates 25 full-service offices in seven Middle Tennessee counties, offering a full range of financial products that include secondary market mortgage loans and online banking services.

Houston’s now has fresh grilled hamburgers and fries PDF Print E-mail

Houston’s Meat and Produce is continuing to expand its kitchen, now adding fresh grilled burgers and fries.

What makes Houston’s burgers different is that they come from the meat room inside the store, and are never frozen. The meat is ground right in the store, and cooked while you wait.

Chris Houston said another reason they wanted to do it is because it gives north siders more burger options.

“There are not a lot of places known for their burgers on this side of a town,” said Houston.

You can still get all the favorites at Houston’s as well. Taco salads are on Thursdays, steak sandwiches on Fridays and smoked ribs on the weekends. You can also get their famous chicken salad as well.

If you are interested in catering an event, Houston’s can handle 20 people to 1,000 any day of the week.

Houston’s Meat & Produce is located at 3930 N. Mt. Juliet Road. They can be reached at (615)758-7226.

The exterior design features bamboo window awnings and a signature bamboo door with rustic metal door handles that will mark the entrance to Pier 1 Imports’ unique shopping experience. The features of the new store will allow easier navigation all while maintaining the “treasure hunt” feel and continuing to make Pier 1 Imports a great place for discovery and spending time browsing.
