Mt. Juliet has formal options right in the heart of the city now that Repeat After Me has opened. 

Since March, Repeat After Me has been helping Mt. Juliet residents look their best for their formal events. 

Whether it be weddings, proms, pageants, or quinceaneras, Repeat After Me has plenty of options for you. 

Repeat After Me was opened by Mt. Juliet resident Lisa Hare. She had a friend that was getting married, and they had to travel to different areas to find what she needed. She wanted to make it easier for Mt. Juliet residents to get the formal attire they needed for their special days. 

Repeat After Me has new and consignment dresses. Half of the collection at the store is owned by Hare, and those can be rented as well. In addition to dresses, Repeat After Me has Tuxedo Rentals through Ascot. 

But that’s not all. Repeat After Me can do wedding invitations and accessories as well.

WB&T to hold Mayberry themed Senior Citizen’s Day PDF Print E-mail

On Wednesday, May 15, Wilson Bank & Trust invites area senior adults to celebrate the simple life at a Mayberry-themed Senior Citizens Day featuring games, shopping, live entertainment, health screenings, prizes and more.

Alongside Mayberry-related props, décor and trivia, new attractions at this year’s Senior Citizens Day include bingo, cake walks and checker games in the shade.  The event also offers free glucose and cholesterol screenings from University Medical Center; cooking segments with Ann Cox Eastes from Talk of the Town from 11 a.m. to noon; performances from young banjo player R.T. Williams starting at 1 p.m.; and vendor booths and concessions throughout the day.

Guests can also register to win a number of prizes, including $250 cash, a $250 gift card from Home Depot and an assortment of vendor door prizes.

Senior Citizens Day takes place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the west lawn of WB&T’s Main Office, located on West Main in Lebanon.  Admission is free.

BelkGives Go Mobile Mammography Center visiting Mt. Juliet PDF Print E-mail

The BelkGives on the Go Mobile Mammography Center, a 39-foot-long, state-of-the-art screening center on wheels, will stop at Belk stores in the Nashville region in May to offer free, convenient mammogram screenings.  

Women age 40 and over with no breast concerns, who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months and who have a primary care physician are eligible by calling 855-655-BMMC (2662) to schedule an appointment. It will be visiting the Mt. Juliet Belk May 23. 

All screening exams are performed by Charlotte Radiology’s licensed, female mammography-certified technologists.  A board-certified radiologist, specialized in breast imaging will interpret the mammogram. Confidential results will be sent to the patient and her primary care physician.

Belk, the nation’s largest privately operated department store, launched BelkGives on the Go Mobile Mammography in partnership with Charlotte Radiology. This mobile mammography center will bring convenient, digital screening and awareness to all Belk markets with the journey beginning in 113 stores throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee through January 2014.

“Having the BelkGives on the Go Mobile Mammography Center travel to the cities where our associates and customers live and work underscores what we’ve being saying for a long time – awareness and early detection saves lives,” said Jessica Graham, Belk’s vice president of communications and community relations. “We’re excited to take Belk’s fight against breast cancer on the road.”

McKendree Village celebrates 50th Anniversary PDF Print E-mail

On April 17,  McKendree Village  commemorated 50 years of service to the Mt. Juliet, Hermitage, Donelson and Middle Tennessee communities with  a celebration event featuring a rededication of the organization’s  mission as well as a  special closing benediction written by the  campus chaplain.   It is the  first event that  marks the start of  a  year long celebration of the organization’s heritage of caring. Quality service, strong foundations, active lifestyle and bright future, are just a few of the reflections celebrated during the ceremony.  

Joining in the anniversary celebration were many dignitaries and community leaders, including Mayor Karl Dean from Metropolitan Nashville/Davidson County and Congressman Jim Cooper. Also of  importance were representatives from the McKendree Village Resident Association whose quality living on the local retirement campus has spanned from less than one, to over thirty years! 

McKendree Manor was established in April of 1963 by the Tennessee Conference for the Methodist Church. The 30 acre campus on Lebanon Road was purchased to establish a home for older adults within the conference. Fifty years later that tradition continues at the site of the original Manor, which is now McKendree Village, offering active living and caring for senior adults with varying needs, in a faith affirming community. Home options include Independent Living, Assisted Living, Health Care, and Rehabilitation. Residents of the McKendree Village campus  benefit from a thriving and vibrant chaplaincy program, activities and services to meet the needs of residents wherever they are in life’s journey, and supportive and caring staff  who are available to share a love of people and commitment to servant leadership. There are also many volunteer programs and opportunities for community involvement.

Serving all of Middle Tennessee with particular focus on the Mt. Juliet, Hermitage, and Donelson communities, residents at McKendree Village will discover themselves immediately finding home, friends and family within a safe and secure environment. During the anniversary celebration many residents shared that they could not imagine their life without the quality services, friends, and new family in the place they now call home. A commemorative History Wall  was unveiled and is available for the public to enjoy viewing. The display  features  many noteworthy events and accomplishments of the organization over the past decades and pays homage to the rich heritage of excellence and service  from 1963 until present.  Additionally, exciting plans for new construction and renovations to be accomplished in the future were revealed during the week’s celebration. 

The anniversary event launched  a series of  special events that will be offered throughout the year to mark this momentous occasion for all of Middle Tennessee. The Mt. Juliet, Hermitage, and Donelson communities are invited to visit the campus and share in the excitement of McKendree Village, which is and will continue to be “The Heart of Hermitage”.
