Caya Williams crossed the 2,500-point threshold Friday in the Lady Bears 59-15 win over Hendersonville Friday.
Williams had 18 points in the game. She had passed Sheila Johannson Tuesday in the win over Beech to become to school’s all time leading scorer.
The game was no trouble for the Lady Bears who never let the Lady Commandoes get anything going. They started the game on an 8-0 run, and led 19-3 at the end of the first. The lead exploded to 37-8 by the half.
The game was 52-13 going into the fourth. Williams led the way with her 18 points. Mimi Jackson added 11.

In the boys’ game, Hendersonville stunned Mt. Juliet, handing the Bears their second consecutive district loss. Mt. Juliet had beat the Commandoes by 16 earlier this season, but couldn’t get the shots to fall in the 54-42 loss Friday. The Bears came out with a ton of energy, going after loose balls and putting the pressure on the Commandoes. However, Hendersonville was getting buckets and led 9-8 at the end of the first. Hendersonville’s Jeff Long went off in the second quarter, and had collected 19 points by the half. His hot shooting gave Hendersonville the 27-18 halftime lead.
Mt. Juliet started the second half on a 10-0 run, and an Anthony Casciani free throw gave the Bears the lead. Hendersonville responded with an 8-0 run of their own and led 35-28 going into the fourth. The shots rimmed out in the fourth and Hendersonville hit their free throws to come away with the victory.
Long finished the game with 32. Caleb Chowbay led Mt. Juliet with 19.  Mt. Juliet hosted their final regular season home game of the season Tuesday against Lebanon. The games happened after press time.
