MJ Riverdogs win Nashville RBI Tournament PDF Print E-mail

Mt. Juliet's Tyler Cates Post 281 Riverdogs Senior 18U Baseball Team won the Nashville RBI Invitational Tournament last weekend for the second year in a row.  

The Riverdogs went undefeated throughout the tournament and were led by some outstanding pitching performances from Connor Sugg, David Farmer, Josh Weaver, and Jimmy Fontaine.

Game 1 - Mt. Juliet 7  Franklin Generals 6.  The winning pitcher was Connor Sugg, pitching a complete game.

Game 2 - Mt. Juliet 9  Grassland Venom 0.  The winning pitcher and pitching a complete game No-Hitter was David Farmer.

Game 3 - Mt. Juliet 16  Nashville War Hawks 3.  The winning pitcher and pitching a complete game No-Hitter was Josh Weaver.

Game 4 (Championship) - Mt. Juliet 5 Franklin Coyotes 2.  The winning pitcher was Jimmy Fontaine, pitching a complete game.

Mt. Juliet’s offensive attack was led by Cumberland University signee Brett Smith, batting 8 for 13 (.615 avg) and Connor Sugg, batting 5 for 10 (.500 avg). Also, having three hits apiece for the Riverdogs was David Farmer, Andrew Mannella, Jay Pittman, and Kote Smith.

Mt. Juliets Tyler Cates Post 281 Riverdogs Senior 18U Baseball Team will finish up their season on Aug. 2-4 at the American Legion State Championship Tournament held at Columbia State Community College.
