Wilson Central racked up over 200 yards each on the ground and through the air en route to a 45-7 win Friday over Lebanon. Central posted 31 first half points and did not allow Lebanon to score until the fourth quarter.

Central received the kickoff and dominated the game from the start, starting with the ball on their own 49.  A few plays into the drive, Jordan Roundtree found Alex Price for a 38-yard pass for a touchdown. Brad Cavanough kicked the extra point and Central was up 7-0.

Lebanon attempted to run the ball at Central, and was able to get a first down.  However, Central’s defense locked down, in part due to a sack by Preston Reed.

On their second drive Central started on their 32. Central had two penalties on offense during this drive (off sides and false start), but were able to get into field goal range as Cavanough kicked a 35 yarder.

Central’s defense held as they forced Lebanon to go three and out.

The Wildcats next drive started with Tim Fitzgerald, as he had a big rush for 22 yards. The rest of the drive was all Price as he rushed for two and caught passes for eight and 25 yards that resulted in a TD. Cavanough kicked the extra point and Central was up 17-0.

Lebanon started moving the ball on their next drive but Central forced a fumble that was recovered by Eric Simmons on Lebanon’s 44.  Kaleb Butler had two rushes for two and 13 yards and then Roundtree hit Price for  29-yard touchdown as Central jumped to a 24-0 lead.

Preston Reed stepped up on defense as he got a sack for a 7-yard loss and a tackle for a 2-yard loss.

Central’s first half damage wasn’t done as Lee caught an 18-yard pass and then Fitzgerald had runs of 19 and five yards. The drive was capped by a 20-yard touchdown pass from Roundtree to Eric Simmons. Lebanon ran out of time on their next drive and the half ended with Central up 31-0.

Central scored on two of their three drives in the second half.  The first drive had a rush by Price for one yard and Givens for six yards.  Roundtree then ran the ball in for a touchdown from 46 yards out.  Central’s second drive was stopped midfield by a fumble as they went for it on fourth down.  On their final drive, Central started off with three consecutive penalties moving their starting position from their own 44 to their 28. Roundtree then hit Blake Lea on a 72-yard touchdown pass.

Central’s defense was strong in the second half. Rod Crutchfield came up with a sack. They did allow Lebanon to get one successful drive as they scored a touchdown with 8:38 to go in the fourth.

Central improves to 5-0 and will travel to Centennial (3-1) who is coming off a loss to Independence. The game starts at 7 p.m.
