Area runners compete in Wilson County Invitational PDF Print E-mail

The 2012 Wilson County Invitational was held Tuesday, Sept. 25, with cross country runners from the middle and high schools of Wilson County competing in the event. 

In the Girls’ Middle School 2500-meter run, Allie Dozier of Winfree Bryant won with a time of 10:02.1. Catherine Wilkerson of Mt. Juliet Middle was second at 10:06.0, and Kamryn Burgess of West Wilson Middle was third at 10:15.6. Winfree Bryant won the team competition with 36 points. 

In the Boys’ Middle School 2500-meter run, John Elrod of West Wilson Middle won with a time of 8:32.0. Tyler Gilbert, also of West Wilson Middle was second with a time of 9:01.1. Friendship Christian’s Noah Baker was third at 9:06.4. West Wilson Middle won the team title with 28 points. 

In the Girls’ High School 5000-meter run, Taylor Blankenship of Wilson Central was first with a time of 21:37.7. Kaitlin Hynek of Mt. Juliet was second with a time of 22:25.5. Wilson Central’s Kayla Packer was third with a time of 23:11.7. Mt. Juliet won the team title with 18 points. 

Three Mt. Juliet runners were tops in the Boys’ High School 5000-meter run. Elijah Wilson was first at 17:49.9, followed by John Abernathy at 18:10.9. Colbe Earles was third with a time of 18:23.2. Mt. Juliet won the team competition with 19 points.
