Central’s season came to end Friday to the hands of Brentwood, 35-0.

The Wildcats had a big turnaround this season after being 2-8 the last two seasons, by finishing 8-2 this season. They earned a playoff spot for the first time in four years.

Central received the opening kickoff and things were looking good as on the opening play as Alex Price rushed for 37 yards. But a fumble on the next play gave it to the Bruins.

Brentwood went 57 yards in 13 plays for the score and led 7-0.

A few drives later, Brentwood’s went nine plays and 79 yards taking the score to 14-0.

Central’s next drive started off great as Roundtree hooked up with Lee for a 44 yard catch.  They moved the ball to Brentwood’s 26 yard line.  However, three plays later Roundtree threw an interception. Brentwood took the ball 80 yards in 13 plays and Brentwood took the lead to 21-0.

Central began moving the ball on their next drive with a heavy dose of Roundtree throwing the ball. They moved the ball to Brentwood’s 33, but ran out of time as the half expired.

After the half Central’s defense stopped Brentwood’s opening drive and forced them to go three and out.  However, on their first play Central fumbled the ball, giving Brentwood a short field. Brentwood went 29 yards in three plays for the score. They were now up 28-0.

Central attempted to put together two more drives, getting the ball to Brentwood’s 19 and their own 46, but turned it over on downs each time.

Brentwood scored one more time, two plays after a Roundtree interception, ending the game with a 35-0 win for Brentwood.

Chris Lee led the Wildcats in receiving with four catches for 134 yards.  Alex Price led all rushers with six rushes for 62 yards.

Central will be losing 22 seniors this year, including three of their five starting offensive lineman.

According to Coach Brad Dedman their goal this offseason is to get bigger and faster as he felt like that is what hurt them against Brentwood.
