Hendersonville swept Central to open 9-AAA district play Friday. 

In the girls’ game, Rachel Bean led Central with 19 points in the 57-47 loss. Central led 18-16 after one, and 31-27 at the half. The game was tied at 43-43 going into the fourth, and the Lady Commandoes were able hold the Lady Wildcats to four points in the fourth quarter. 

Hendersonville’s Courtney Glover led all scorers with 21.

Hendersonville overcame a fourth quarter deficit in the boys’ game to knock off Central, 52-48. 

The Wildcats held a 21-17 halftime lead, but the Commandoes cut it to 30-29 going into the final quarter. 

Jacob Williams led Central with 18 points. Blake Huffman added 11. Hendersonville’s Jacob McCullough led all scorers with 21 points. 

Central hosted Beech after press time Tuesday. They will travel to Lebanon Friday, with the girls’ game tipping off at 6:30 p.m.
