Belk recently donated $5,000 to Charis Health Center for Women’s Health.
“We are pleased to present this check on behalf of Belk, Inc. and our store to benefit women’s health at Charis Health Center,” said Jeff Perry, Belk Store Manager. “Belk is committed to giving back to the communities it serves through financial contributions and volunteer support.”“This donation will benefit women here in Wilson County who are working, but have no insurance to receive their annual screenings,” David Rhodes, Board President.
Charis Health Center dedicates the second Tuesday of each month to women’s health. A gynecologist provides services from 8 a.m. to noon. These services include annual exams including pap smears and referrals for mammograms if needed.
Charis Health Center is a non-profit primary health care center that focuses on the basic medical needs of working uninsured individuals who live or work in Wilson County. If you live in Wilson County, you do not have health insurance coverage, and if you or someone in your household is employed, you are eligible to be a patient. Charis Health Center is located at 9695 Lebanon Road in Mt. Juliet.
Currently Charis is open Mondays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursdays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are required. To make an appointment or learn more about Charis Health Center services, call the office at (615)773-5785.
