There was standing room only as more than 150 people gathered in support of the Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center for Pig-stravaganza. Attendance at the event reiterated the need for a larger facility. The event began with a delicious pork dinner catered by Houston’ Meat and Produce. Over 50 items donated by Mt. Juliet businesses were on display for raffle chances. The band, Fast Forward, set the mood with lively bluegrass music. Laughter filled the room as two helium filled piggy balloons volleyed through the crowd. Kevin Pigg sold every floating pig in his game of chance.
The pig-calling contest stole the show as eight contestants demonstrated their best calls. After much deliberation, Celebrity Judges, Mayor Ed Hagerty, Judge Andy Wright and Judge John Gwin announced, Nancy Pullin as first place winner and the proud recipient of “Penelope the cement pig.”
