|MJ ROTC collects for Toys for Tots|

Santa had 40 extra elves this year in helping to provide a brighter Christmas to families in Wilson County.
Cadets from the Mt Juliet High School Marine Corp JROTC worked tirelessly with Toys for Tots this past week to provide over 600 food containers. They sorted thousands pounds of food so that each container had two boxes of much needed food supplies for a Merry Christmas. Each container held the traditional stock for a great Christmas breakfast and feast, as well as other food stuffs. After the food containers were distributed, many of the cadets went to over to The Mother’s Toy Store. Here the cadets worked in many capacities. They assembled bikes, acted as valets to help families “shop” for their kids. Then the cadets helped these families get these treasures to their cars and assisted in the cleanup efforts after everyone was helped.
Most of these elves worked over seven hours after school Friday, and 12 hours Saturday.
