|Commander Run series set for April 13|
|Tuesday, March 12, 2013|
Are you ready for the toughest run in Tennessee? Commander Run offers a fierce running series held on a challenging course with extreme obstacles where participants push their limits and celebrate the challenge of conquering nature at its best. You will be fed one tough endurance event that will be the adrenalin rush of your life. Mark your calendar for April 13.
From beginner trail racers and mud run participants to hardcore warriors, tough guys and marathon runners – there is something for everyone. The Commander Run Series challenges athletes of any age or ability by offering three unique runs: The Extreme 5K, The Mini-Extreme and The Cross-Country 5K.
If you are up to the test of an insane obstacle race then The Commander Extreme 5K will demand every ounce of your strength, ingenuity and animal instinct. You will test your ability to run, climb, jump, crawl, and muscle your way through by having to conquer whatever obstacles get in your way. This race is for participants age 14 and older and will test your all-around toughness, strength, stamina, fitness, and mental determination. Upon your victory you will understand at the finish line why the reward is worth the challenge...then you can celebrate with friends and a muddy fist in the air.
For those not up to that challenge, there is The Commander Mini Extreme that offers a 1.6 mile course with obstacles designed to offer an alternative to the Extreme 5K. It is suitable for up-and-coming Extreme participants and is perfect for team building. Participants join in the fun as they complete a shorter, less difficult obstacle course as the ‘Extremers’. This obstacle course tests your resilience, strength, stamina, quick decision making skills and ability to laugh in the face of adversity while building resolve and self esteem.
The Cross Country 5K is an adventure race that requires participants to navigate a 5K trail-running course – minus the obstacles. It differs from other local 5K’s by going off-road - traveling trails through a beautiful course that gets you in touch with nature. It definitely will be one of the more unique social events of the year.
“We welcome everyone to join us for the Second Annual Commander Run. The extreme race series is all about having fun and we have some new, extreme obstacles planned to compliment the course,” stated Jon Shoulders, President, Friendship Christian School.
The Commander Run is slated for Saturday April 13. The Commander Run Event Site is on the beautiful 50-acre campus of Friendship Christian School located at 5400 Coles Ferry Pike, Lebanon, Tennessee. The family friendly race features chip timing. Proceeds from the event benefit Friendship Christian School and are tax deductible. Mark your calendar and make a commitment to meet the extreme challenge of the Commander Run. Register online at Active.com.
