|Kid’s Club visits Long Hunter|
|Tuesday, April 2, 2013|
On March 20th, the Wilson County Extended School Program brought 380 to 400 students to Long Hunter State Park for programs, play time and a picnic.
Ranger Jeremy Blackwell co-ordinated with Director Gayle Hooper and Michelle Temple in setting up the visit for the Kid’s Club.
While some of the children were enjoying the new playground at the Couchville Lake area, groups took nature hikes with Ranger Blackwell, others learned about animals, birds and reptiles from Ranger Tyler Blystone, and others visited with the Old Long Hunter (Manager Thurman Mullins) and learned about Big Foot Spencer and the Long Hunters.
The Park Staff were impressed with the attention and politeness of each of the children.
The Long Hunter Staff enjoyed having the Kids’ Club out and look forward to seeing all of the children and Care Givers back at Long Hunter State Park often.
