Tuesday, June 4, 2013

The Mt. Juliet YMCA at the Valley Center is privileged to name Erin Chambers its 2012 Volunteer of the Year. Chambers was honored on April 23 as part of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s Annual Celebration.
Mt. Juliet Y Executive Director Anna Lee O’Neil praised Chambers for her service to the community.
“Erin grew up in Wilson County, yet lives and works in Nashville,” O’Neil said. “She is passionate about bringing the YMCA and the services it provides to her home county. Her positive ‘can-do’ spirit is infectious, her dedication inspiring and her gracious presence appreciated.”

Celebrating service

The YMCA of Middle Tennessee each year presents 27 Volunteer of the Year awards, honoring those who’ve given of their time, talent and financial resources to advance the Y’s charitable mission. Since the organization’s founding in 1875, dedicated volunteers like Chambers have worked to strengthen their community by being part of the YMCA.
“Our Y recognizes the mutual benefit that results through the sharing of time, talent and financial resources for the good of our community,” said YMCA of Middle Tennessee President and CEO John Mark “Journey” Johnson. “We are so grateful for our more than 3,100 volunteers, who led the way in 2012 to make a lasting and positive impact where they live and work.”
