Wilson JECDB tries to draw new business in Vegas
Tuesday, June 4, 2013

Representatives for the Joint Economic & Community Development Board (JECDB) of Wilson County along with the Cities of Lebanon, Mt. Juliet and Watertown had the opportunity to showcase the community to an international audience of decision makers at the 2013 International Council of Shopping Centers RECon show in Las Vegas, Nevada held May 19-22.
Funded through the marketing efforts of the JECDB, the local leaders had the opportunity to meet and make presentations, develop deals, attend educational sessions and network with their key retail and commercial contacts.  RECon which serves as the world’s largest retail real estate convention offers an unparalleled opportunity to meet with and present the many advantages of doing business throughout Wilson County.
RECon attendance hit post-Recession records this year with some 32,400 delegates packing the halls at RECon on Monday.  Overall attendance was north of 35,000, a 10 percent increase from 2012. Attendees and exhibitors expressed unadulterated optimism about the health of the U.S. retail real estate industry.
The JECDB is funded through an interlocal  agreement of the four governmental agencies in Wilson County and serves to maintain, expand and recruit industrial, commercial and retail development  throughout the county and its municipalities.
